With travelling abroad made super difficult, due to the worry of a 2week quarantine on the return, we have made the most of the lovely summer we have had and have had a fair few travels within the UK. Here are some of the places we have tried out.
First up we have Mill End Hotel on Dartmoor. A wonderful small dog friendly hotel based near castle Drogo and Fingle bridge in Dartmoor. This was around a 2.5-3 hour car journey from Bournemouth and our first escape from lockdown. It was great. Our room was a suite and had a lovely outdoor balcony that was a sun trap. The food was delicious and staff super friendly. A perfect weekend away 🙂

Next up, we checked out Torquay. Not too far from us, I can’t believe we hadn’t been before. We stayed at Lincombe Hall spa hotel. Situated a quick walk up the hill from the harbour, the hotel looks very grand from the outside. A lovely hotel and the spa was amazing. The only downside was for the price and that although we asked for a dog friendly room, the room was tiny, and didn’t have easy access to an outdoor space from our room. We ordered room service on our first night and unfortunately our room was almost too small to accommodate it. The Spa was great and all facilities were open during your allotted time.

Our latest stay was at the Boringdon Hall Spa Hotel. Based in Plymouth, we managed to pick up a room fairly last minute. A pricey stay thats in amazing grounds. We had a lovely relaxed stay here Lb included, he had his own bed and treats. The room was big and had easy access to let him outside. Unfortunately only the hydro pools were open so we were unable to use any other facilities. We also ate in both restaurants, one more formal than the other. Both we ended up being slightly disappointed in.
